Depot Day Redux 4 x 25 miles

These rides are similar to the June Depot Day, but later in the year to give those that have progressed over the season a chance to achieve personal goals in the same rider friendly setting. 

Four 25 mile loop options are offered. (both clockwise and counter clockwise).  Do as many loops as you want, quit when you have had enough.  Trail riding will also be accepted.  All routes start and end at the Wakeman Elevator.  

This is a Map/YOYO (You’re On Your Own) ride.  There are no designated ride leaders.  The routes are not marked and there is no SAG support.  A limited number of Route maps will be available at registration.  It is strongly recommended that you print your own using the RWGPS Event link below.  Riders are encouraged to ride with a partner and carry a cell phone.  

Participants should sign in at the Elevator prior to riding.  Riders should also check back in when they are finished riding and to record their mileage for the day and indicate they are no longer on the road.

If any folks indicate a "request for riding companions" on the newsgroup, their announcements indicating intended star level, distance and start time will be posted here.

Until the Elevator opens at 11:30, bathroom facilities are available at a nearby Subway/gas station or Kipton Park. The Elevator asks that you park behind the storage facilities next door or at the municipal parking lot nearby.

The club will provide minimum refreshments. We ask you to consider stopping at the Elevator after your ride is finished for a beverage and perhaps something to eat to show our appreciation for allowing us to use their facility. More information will follow as we approach the date.

If anyone is interested in riding with me, I plan to start at 9 a.m. with the southeastern route and finish up on the trail for what I hope will be a metric century—62 miles.

Eric and myself are planning to arrive at the Wakeman Elevator around 9 AM on Saturday.  We would like anyone who would like to join us on the route called: East, Trail, Redux (GH & Kipton).  I chose this route because it has a lot of shade along the trail.  We will be riding at a 2-/2 star pace.  Let me know via text or email and we will look for you.

NOTE:

We rode the trail today as part of Betsy’s ride. A short segment of it was closed northeast of Oberlin for tree and brush cutting. I don’t know if they work on Saturday’s but if you ride the trail be prepared to detour if they are working and the trail is closed.
